Remembrance Groups are facilitated by specially trained HMS school counselors, and are available for any student who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Using materials developed by Good Grief * and Rainbows, two organizations that assist young people with loss, the group uses the TEAR model to help students through their grief journey.

The goals of the group include:
- to acknowledge grieving as a normal response to loss
- to provide an opportunity for emotional healing
- to honor and preserve memories of loved ones
- to teach appropriate coping mechanisms
The group is voluntary and confidential and meets once a week for approximately 12 weeks. If you are interested in having your child participate in a Remembrance group at HMS, please call Mrs. Mahler at 431-6600 ext. 2296 or email at [email protected] .
