 The Student Assistance Program provides an array of prevention, intervention and support services for students who may be experiencing personal, relationship or family issues.   The goals of the program are to help students develop healthy coping skills, make positive lifestyle choices and avoid substance use or other risky behaviors.   The Student Assistance Counselor works in collaboration with the child’s family, teachers, guidance counselors, administration, school nurse, and Child Study Team to deliver a variety of services:

 
  • Individual counseling for any student
  • Support groups for students  
  • Coordinate "Get Connected" Student Mentoring Program, which matches students with a teacher mentor 
  • Assessment of students who violate substance abuse policy to determine needs
  • Classroom presentations on alcohol impairment
  • Advise peer leadership groups   Service Clubs

  • Anti-Bullying Specialist (ABS) and School Climate/Safety Team Chairperson
