This workshop focuses on the increasing trend of children and adolescents using social media. Attendees will gain insights into how children fulfill their needs online and explore strategies to guide them toward fulfilling those needs offline and explore strategies to guide them toward fulfilling those needs offline. By enhancing parent-child connections, participants will foster a desire in their children to reduce online time and engage more in offline activities.

Dr. Channing Moreland, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of progressive experience in behavioral health and education.

Dr. Moreland brings extensive expertise in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and evidence-based mental health practices. She has designed and facilitated over 100 workshops on mental health awareness, trauma response, and cultural responsiveness. Her training programs have equipped professionals with practical skills in crisis intervention, psychological first aid, and culturally responsive care.

As a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Adult, Youth, and Higher Education populations, Dr. Moreland has trained hundreds of professionals in recognizing and responding to mental health crises. Her additional certifications in Cognitive Behavior Interventions for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Human-Centered Design inform her innovative approach to mental health education.

Dr. Moreland's academic background includes a Doctorate in Leadership & Administration from Point Park University, a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and extensive teaching experience as a former Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Her commitment to accessible mental health resources has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Community Heroes Award and the Mental Health Community Service Award.
