Attention all students to this very important announcement. TOPS will be sponsoring its annual Valentine's Dance and Open Gym on Friday February 9th from 7-9pm. This dance will be limited to 350 students. Tickets will be sold on certain days. For 7th graders, tickets will be sold on Monday and Wednesday, February 5th and 7th. For 8th graders, tickets will be sold on Tuesday and Thursday, February 6th and 8th to ensure equal opportunity for purchasing. Please no buying tickets for other students and also be sure to purchase tickets in your appropriate lunch period. Ms. Ferreri will be present in the cafeteria to oversee sales. No tickets will be sold the day of or night of the dance. So mark your calendars and be sure to pay attention to future morning announcements and homeroom flyers regarding this upcoming dance.
Many of you are probably not aware that last Monday was the National Day of Racial Healing.
The day of racial healing is observed to help spark conversations that lead to empathy, understanding and healing. When we talk openly and honestly about the ways that people have been harmed, it helps to build trust, restore community, and affirm the value of ALL people. During your study period today, you’ll have the opportunity to watch a short video prepared for you by R.E.B.E.L, in honor of this important day.
Also, enjoy the music that will be playing during lunch, created specifically with this day of healing in mind. We think it will be a great way to honor the spirit of the day AND kick off “no name calling week” leading up to “hat not hate day” on Friday.
