Did you get more Halloween candy than you can possibly eat? Well, TOPS is sponsoring Treats for Our Troops! Why not send some sweetness to our troops serving in the military? A pizza party will be given to the one 7th grade and the one 8th grade homeroom that brings in the most donations determined by weight. The contest ends on Thursday, November 8th.

Want to take part in supporting our deployed troops with care packages filled with gratitude, and essential items? Then why not support Operation Shoebox? Please see your homeroom teacher for items most needed. Donations can be dropped off in the Commons beginning today through next Wednesday.

Do you have a favorite teacher at HMS who has made a difference in your life or those around you? Do they deserve special recognition? Consider nominating a member of the HMS faculty to be our "Educator of the Year" as part of the NJ Governor's Educators of the Year Awards. Check your email or the HMS website for details on how you can nominate a deserving teacher or educational services professional for this prestigious recognition. Don't delay. Nominations are due by November 18th.

The debate club will meet today at 3:15 in the library media center. Please go to your lockers before you arrive and make sure you have a ride home promptly at 4:15.

Teen Arts is coming! This is HMS’s 23rd year of participation in the Somerset County Teen Arts Festival which takes place on May 16, 2024 at Raritan Valley Community College. The festival provides an opportunity for students to submit works in the categories of creative writing, dance, film, theater, instrumental or vocal music, and visual arts. See the bulletin board outside C13 for guidelines and submission forms, or log onto TAF link on the HMS homepage for more information. See Mrs. Presuto in C13 or email [email protected] with questions.

Thank you to everyone who participated in and donated for the Pumpkins for a Purpose fundraiser. As a school we raised $965 for the New Jersey Special Olympics! If your homeroom would like to keep your pumpkin, please send a representative to the cafeteria at this time to take your pumpkin. Any pumpkins left on the stage will be discarded by the end of the day. Congratulations to the winning homerooms: Ms. Khashab, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Arce, Mr. Evans, Ms. Marino, Mr. Blevins, Mrs. Simons, Mrs. Rubin, and Mr. Brophy. Great job everyone!
