Mary Ellen DaviesMary Ellen Davies

M.A.T., Education & Instructional Technology - Fairleigh Dickinson University, 2007 B.A., German - Franklin and Marshall College, 2002

Mrs. Davies joined Hillsborough Middle School as a teacher of German in 2003.  Over the years, her efforts to integrate technology in ways that meaningfully enhanced and supported student learning consistently distinguished her classroom instruction.   In 2013, she transitioned to her current role as computer resource specialist providing technology support for students and teachers at HMS.  Although much of her work now is with teachers, she maintains close ties with students as well, launching the "Certified Student Technology Assistants" program this year in which nearly 40 students have earned certifications as "experts" in a variety of educational technology applications for the classroom and serve as a network of student supports for peers and teachers across HMS.

"What I love about my current job is how it as evolved from helping teachers and students with simply using their technology to helping teachers integrate the technology to innovate their lessons.  For the last two school years, I have been able to focus my energy and effort on technology coaching. I love meeting with teachers to brainstorm ways to increase the meaningfulness of their technology integration efforts."

For her dedicated service, expertise, and valued educational support to our school community, HMS is proud to recognize Mrs. Davies as HMS Educational Services Professional of the Year 2019.
