GUIDELINES & TIPS

DRESS CODE 
The dress code for the dance is semi-formal. The girls often want to kick off dress shoes within the first ½ hour of the dance so make sure they pack a pair of socks or slippers. Bare feet will not be permitted.

  • Gentlemen:  No sneakers or jeans. Dress shirt, tie and dress slacks. A suit jacket is optional.
  • Ladies:  Dresses should be appropriate to the age of the students without being extremely low cut or overly exposed. 


TICKETSTickets $20 - Order Form
All tickets will be sold in advance.  NO tickets will be sold at the door.  There are no physical tickets to carry or lose.  All students will have to check in as they enter and we have a record of all ticket sales.   

Students will need to check in by homeroom as they enter the building, therefore:
Teams 8A, 8B, and 8C should enter the Main Entrance
Teams 8D and 8E should enter the Secondary Front Entrance

ATTENDANCE
Students must be in attendance at school (for a minimum of three hours) on the day of the dance in order to attend the dance. This means students cannot sign out prior to NOON.

DROP OFF
Starting at 6:45 pm (NO EARLIER, please.)

CARPOOL!  Patience is the word of the evening.  Expect some delays and be merry.  We will be directing traffic to expedite the safe and continuous movement of cars for drop off. 

Note that there will be a safe zone established between the parking lot and the front of the school to allow for passage of students walking from the parking lot area. These traffic patterns significantly reduce the risk of students having to dodge between moving vehicles and help to ease the flow of cars in and out of the lot safely.  All traffic will be directed into the HMS parking lot along two lines utilizing the drop-off lane and general parking.  PULL AS FAR DOWN the LANE AS POSSIBLE before stopping to drop students or pull into a designated parking space.   ALL traffic will then be directed to exit out along Cardinal Lane to Farm Road. 

PICK-UP
Pick up will be at 9:30 pm.  Please ensure that your child is picked up at 9:30 pm. Have patience and care getting in and out of our lot.  Police will be on hand to direct traffic, and while the lot will be congested, we can get nearly everyone out of the lot safely by 9:45 pm. 

If picking up your child prior to 9:30 pm you must sign them out at the front main door entrance. Students will not be allowed to leave early without a parent signature.  For security reasons, no adults other than chaperones will be permitted beyond the front door entrance at any time during the dance.  At 9:30 pm, all students will be dismissed from the dance.  Plan – in advance - a spot to meet your child OUTSIDE the building after the dance.

PICTURES
Milan Rose Photographers will be taking portraits of students throughout the evening. Each student attending the dance will receive a coupon/order sheet good for one FREE sheet that will include a 5x7 and 4 wallets of the picture of their choice.  Additional pictures/sheets can be purchased at a cost of $7 per sheet.  The portrait order form will be sent out via email after the dance and posted to our HMS website as well.  THANKS MILANROSE!
