Every year on May 31st, the World Health Organization recognizes "World No Tobacco Day" to raise awareness on the harmful effects of tobacco use. It is estimated that 100 million people around the globe have died in the last century from smoking. Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has led millions of people who smoke or vape to commit to quitting as one way to reduce the impact of the virus on their lungs. If you or someone you love smokes or vapes, help them claim their right to healthy living! Quitting this deadly habit not only protects future generations from addiction, but also reduces the impact of second hand smoke on others. There are many free resources available to help smokers commit to quit - check out the WHO's website for more information. (www.who.int)
