Today is the last day permission forms will be accepted for the debate club. The first meeting will be held this Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:15 in the library media center. If anyone is still interested in joining, your name will be added to a waiting list. See Ms. Rubin in D26.

There are four parts up for grabs for Drama Club's show, "It's a Wonderful Life." If you are interested please come this Thursday, September 26 to Mrs. Baker's room after school (Music 1). You may leave as soon as you are done, which should be 4:00. See you there!

And now it is time for our first "Monday’s Mindful Minute." Let’s start by sitting up straight, with your feet firmly on the floor and your hands resting on your knees. If you are comfortable, close your eyes. If you prefer, soften your gaze and look towards your lap or, if it is available, at the projected kaleidoscope. Take a few slow, deep breaths. While you are breathing deeply, relax your shoulders, your stomach muscles, the muscles in your face, your hands and your legs. Let go of all the tension in your body. Now bring your attention back to your breath. Allow your breathing to be natural and relaxed. Notice your breath as it goes in and out. Notice how different one breath is from the next. It's the same with life - one day, one moment is different from the next, ever changing ever evolving. Now, imagine calm as a color - what color would it be? Imagine stress as a color - what color is that? Now breathe in deeply the color of calm, and breathe out completely the color of stress. Repeat this for a few more breaths (pause) Whatever is going through your mind right now, let it slip away just for this moment. Repeat to yourself: I am in harmony I am safe I am accepted I am worthy... Try to remember to breathe in your color of calm as you go through your day. Now, return your awareness back to the room, and when you are ready, open your eyes.
