Congratulations to three of our 8th grade students, Nia Smart, Beri Tawe and Phyllis Yeboah, who were honored last night at the 29th annual Paul Robeson Youth Achievement Awards Program at Raritan Valley Community College. Each student was recognized for their academic excellence and community service. A special shout-out to Beri Tawe from Team 8D, who was awarded the Eveyln Field Visionary Award for her outstanding essay on how Paul Robeson has influenced her life. Beri, who a member of AWARE, expressed her passion for doing the right thing, even in the face of adversity. Congratulations to all three of our Paul Robeson honorees - you have made your families and HMS very proud!

For the first time, the 8th grade Digital Citizenship lesson will be presented today by peer leaders from AWARE, PRIDE, Student Council, and STAR along with several individual upstanding volunteers. The lesson, entitled "Say Something," was specifically designed for the graduating Class of 2023, as you prepare to move forward to high school. The message is simple: take care of one another as a community, by speaking up if you see something of concern, especially online. The peer leaders have worked very hard to prepare for today's presentation. We hope that you will engage in meaningful conversation with one another and find the lesson to be a valuable one!
