Have you ever thought about what our clothes say about us? Or who decides what is in style? Who says that clothes, shoes or socks should match? This Friday, HMS is celebrating MisMatch Day, where all are encouraged to wear clothes, socks or shoes that typically do not match! Why? As part of Name Calling Week, MisMatch Day allows our clothes to send the message that it is okay to dress differently, to be different from others and that uniqueness is to be celebrated. And just like with clothing rules about what supposedly "goes together," we can begin to break down stereotypes and assumptions about who "goes together" and be open to accepting everyone for who they are!
