November 28, 2018
Today AWARE is sponsoring a Vape-Out, in recognition of the Great American Smoke-out, an anti-smoking event that is held on the third Thursday of November since 1977 to encourage smokers to quit. Although rates of cigarette smoking among young people have declined, e-cigarettes use has increased dramatically in the last few years. Our black clothing today symbolizes that we are against any form of nicotine addiction from smoking or vaping.
Companies like JUUL are making millions of dollars by luring kids to use their products, with slick advertising that hides the risks. All JUULs contain high levels of nicotine hidden in sweet flavorings that cause addiction and lung disease, just like regular cigarettes. Please check out AWARE's video and information table in the cafeteria today to learn the truth about JUULs and other e-cigarettes. AWARE will be having a raffle for gift cards for all those who stop by the table today.

This is just a reminder that TOPS members purchasing attire must see Miss Ferreri in Room B-14 during your lunch period today for your orders forms.

The debate club will meet today at 3:15 in the library media center. Please go to your lockers before you arrive and make sure you have a ride home promptly at 4:15.

The first meeting for the club, Hunt for Gender Equality, is tomorrow Thursday, November 29th right after school in Room A-2. All are welcome to attend.

Attention American History Club Members: We are definitely meeting today. Come to room A5 immediately after school for our discussion on the Civil War. See you then!
