October 10, 2019
October is breast cancer awareness month, and the tradition continues here at HMS where we turn our school pink. Tomorrow is "PINK FRIDAY". So show your spirit.

Attention gamers! Video game club is starting next week. If you love playing and talking about video games, come check out our club. The first meeting is next Wednesday, October 16 at 7:40 AM. Come by room A4 to get pick up a permission slip.

Are you an 8th grader who LOVES to read? Then Battle of the Books is the club for you! Please email Ms. Styles for more information or join us at our next meeting on Monday, October 14th, in room A3.

Candles, Candles, who is selling candles!? Yankee Candle sales can help pay for your 8th grade Hershey trip! Sale ends next Wednesday!

The World Health Organization recognizes today, October 10th to be World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is “Working together to prevent suicide.” The hope is that if we all come together to open lines of communication and remove the stigma that surrounds mental health disorders, we can discourage the impulse of suicide, and encourage everyone to seek help if needed. You are not alone. Here at HMS, there are many people who can help you! Our guidance department offers many resources, so never hesitate to reach out.

This is a reminder to all students who have been accepted into Peer Leadership - all meetings will take place in the Media Center starting at 7:45 sharp. If you miss a meeting, it is your responsibility to contact Mrs. Mahler or Mrs. Rusin to find out what you missed. Please note that the deadline for applications has passed, so we will not be accepting any more students into the program this year.
